Deanna's Graduation from Cornell was to be a four day affair starting on Friday May 25, 2012. Claudette and Ron flew to Ithaca, NY from San Francisco as well as Laura and her boyfriend Dan Fingal. On our first night we all had dinner at the Ithaca famous John Thomas Steakhouse. And of course had some steaks.
Saturday May 26 started with the Convocation at the Cornell football stadium known as Schoellkopf Field. The five of us walked over. We sat way to the left of the field, out of the sun. This did get us close to the big screen but it was at quite a slant. Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York City was the main speaker. Ron expected a big anti gun spiel so he wore his NRA cap in protest. But to my surprise, Bloomberg could not stop talking about gay marriage. The Cornell crowd ate this line up.
After the Convocation we all drove out to Watkins Glen to see the spectacular gorges.
Finally on Sunday May 27, we all went back to Schoellkopf Field for the Graduation.
