Barcelona is teeming with people wandering the streets, especially in the famous La Rambla area. The La Rambla is a single street that is maybe 2 miles long, that is a combination of a shopping and hanging out area. The shopping is fairly mediocre on the main drag, but the shops go reasonably upscale on the side streets.
Met Jaime Edelis, who as a Barcelona resident for the last 4 years, and who (now) speaks fluent Spanish, got us to a spectacular tapas restaurant. Jaime is the daughter of one of my best and oldest friends ever, Tad Edelis. Jaime also took us to the Magic Fountain.
As we were all very interested in architecture, we visited all of Gaudi's greatest achievements in Barcelona. His work has a Moorish look, partly because of the extreme use of curves, and partly because of the coloring of the tile work. Its an acquired taste tho, actually living in a Gaudi home, would be trying on the nerves. Where to fit the furniture?
